There has been an upgrade to Globestock’s fall arrest and load arrest rope kits. We are switching from a shock absorber spring to a rubber stopper (see picture).
There are number of reasons for making the upgrade:
- Shock impact has less recoil, which means there is now little to no chance of the pawls inadvertently locking in place if the rope is accidentally released.
- The rubber is less reactive and will fare better in corrosive environments than the plated steel spring.
- More durable and less chance of distorting and damaging if the unit is subjected to severe impact.
- Ergonomically superior with no chance of sharp edges.
The product upgrade is already in effect.
