Q. What is the SENTRY tripod used for?

Q. What models are available?

A. The SENTRY tripod is available in a standard model (GSE230S) and a compact model (GSE230C). Both models are lightweight, telescopic, and feature a collapsible head for easy transport and setup. The compact model is approximately 300 mm (12”) shorter than the standard model when folded, and 600 mm (24”) shorter when assembled.

Q. What is the maximum working load of the SENTRY tripod?

A. The maximum working load of the SENTRY tripod is 200 kg (440 lbs) when used as an item of PPE and 250 kg (550 lbs) when used to raise and lower goods.

Q. How many users is the SENTRY tripod rated for?

A. The SENTRY tripod can be used by a maximum of two users simultaneously, providing their combined weight (including all tools, equipment, etc.) is less than 200 kg (440 lbs).

Q. What surfaces can the SENTRY tripod be used on?

A. The tripod must be installed on a stable, level surface capable of supporting at least 12 kN (EN 795) or 23 kN (ANSI/ASSP Z359, CSA Z259).

Q. How should I inspect the tripod before use?

A. A visual inspection of the SENTRY must be conducted prior to every use. This is known as a pre-use inspection, and it must be conducted according to the criteria listed in the User Instructions.

Q. What should I do if the SENTRY fails its pre-use inspection?

A. Remove it from service immediately, tag it as “UNUSABLE,” and send it to a Globestock-approved service agent to formally inspect and recertify the equipment.

Q. How often does the tripod need to be formally inspected and recertified?

A. The SENTRY tripod must be formally inspected and recertified by a Globestock-approved service agent at least every 12 months. A formal inspection is also required whenever the tripod arrests a fall or fails a pre-use inspection.

Q. Where can I take my SENTRY to have it formally inspected (serviced) and recertified?

A. Only Globestock-approved service agents are authorised to conduct formal inspections and recertifications of this equipment. A list of approved service agents is available on our website.

Q. How should the tripod be cleaned and stored?

A. Clean with warm water and mild detergent. Allow it to dry naturally and store it in a dry, clean environment away from chemicals, moisture, and direct heat. Use the GSETB230 Wheeled Tripod Bag for safe transport. Remove all attached devices from the tripod before transporting or storing it.

Q. Who can repair or modify the tripod?

A. Only Globestock-approved service agents are authorised to formally inspect, repair, and recertify this equipment. Do not make any alterations to this equipment without written approval from Globestock Safety.

Q. Do I need any specific training to use a SENTRY?

A. Yes. All users of the SENTRY tripod must be adequately trained by a competent person in the correct use, inspection, and maintenance of the equipment.
